Portfolio evidence examples
Evidence example 1: Maintaining quality. Rather than focussing solely on quality control testing, this evidence gives a personalised example of how quality can be maintained during technical issues.
Evidence example 2: External Quality Assessment. This example gives a written explanation of an EQA used within the blood transfusion department. The trainee uses annotated images to show how the assessment works and how results should be interpreted.
Evidence example 3: IQA failure. In this piece, the trainee explains the process carried out in the event of a QC failure, as well as providing a real failure example using images. The questions provided by the mentor after marking allow the trainee to extend their knowledge on this specific QC.
Notes:
-
Each piece of evidence above also included mentor / trainee engagement feedback (e.g. ticks, short comments, follow-up questions).
-
Portfolio v5 mandatory piece: Participate in a scheduled quality audit in your laboratory and review the audit outcomes.
